This Is My Favorite Program to Do with Adults

Every program I offer works — but Concepts for Life goes further than any of them. Where Attention Mastery focuses on focus and executive functioning, Concepts for Life covers all of that and the deeper life concepts underneath it: time, order, motivation, cause and effect, and responsibility. It’s a longer, more comprehensive program than Attention Mastery, because it’s addressing so much more.

I love facilitating this program because I get to watch people not just manage their challenges, but genuinely understand themselves for the first time.

Who This Is For

Concepts for Life was built for teens (8 and up) and adults who want to make real change in areas like:

  • Executive functioning, organization, and follow-through
  • Elevated stress and anxiety
  • Difficulty focusing on tasks or conversations
  • Regulating energy and emotions
  • Managing behavior
  • Forming and maintaining positive relationships

If you’re an adult who has spent years quietly working around these things — or you’re supporting someone who has — this program was built for exactly this.

How It’s Different from Talk Therapy

Concepts for Life isn’t counseling, and it isn’t a worksheet-based program. It’s hands-on, one-to-one, and built around the same clay-modeling approach as all of my Davis® programs.

It happens in stages:

  1. Self-regulation tools first. Before anything else, you’ll learn simple, concrete tools for managing stress, focus, and energy — things you can use immediately, in session and out.
  2. Concept mastery in clay. Using plastilina clay, you’ll build three-dimensional models of the life concepts that may have never quite clicked — things like cause and effect, time, sequence, order and disorder, emotion, motivation, and responsibility. Turning an abstract idea into something you can hold and see is what makes it finally stick.
  3. Applying it in real life. Once a concept is mastered in clay, we explore it together in your actual day-to-day world, so it becomes part of how you naturally think — not just something you learned in a session.

What You’ll Walk Away With

  • Real tools for managing stress, energy, and focus — ones you’ll actually use
  • A stronger sense of self-awareness and self-responsibility
  • The ability to create order in your own life, rather than feeling at the mercy of it
  • A foundation for healthier, more stable relationships
  • Confidence built on genuine understanding, not just coping

Flexible, and Fully Available Online

Concepts for Life varies more than any of my other programs — the pace is built around you and your specific goals, rather than a fixed schedule. Many adult clients — especially those balancing work or family — do this program entirely online, at whatever pace fits their life.

“He currently can stay focused for a 2-hour session using the tools Sophia has taught him.”

— Gayle, mom of a 24-year-old Concepts for Life client (sessions held over Zoom)

Let’s See If This Is the Right Fit

Every Concepts for Life program starts with a consultation — for you, or for the person you’re supporting — so we can talk through your specific goals and whether this program is the right match.
